Two Days In Miami

Two Days in Miami After Your Caribbean Cruise

Just because your cruise is over doesn’t mean the adventure has to end! Whether you’re returning from the Dominican Daze itinerary on Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady or another Caribbean escape, adding two days in Miami to your itinerary is the perfect way to extend your Miami holiday.

From world-famous beaches and vibrant art scenes to Latin-infused nightlife, Miami is more than just a cruise port — it’s a destination in itself. Here’s how we made the most of a quick but unforgettable two-day Miami city break.

Day 1: South Beach, Art Deco & Little Havana

Arrival in Miami & Check-In

After a quick 20-minute taxi from the Port of Miami cruise terminal, we arrived in South Beach, the perfect spot to kick off our extended Miami holiday. We checked into the Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach, a stylish hotel right by the beach.

Exploring South Beach

Since our room wasn’t ready yet, we headed out to explore Miami’s iconic South Beach. Famous for its colourful lifeguard towers, soft sands, and vibrant energy, it was the perfect start to our two days in Miami.

The hotel offered free bike rentals for the first two hours, so we cruised down Ocean Drive, admiring the historic Art Deco architecture and passing landmarks like Versace’s Mansion.

Lunch & Scenic Ride

We stopped for lunch at one of Ocean Drive’s many outdoor restaurants—ideal for people-watching and soaking up the Miami holiday vibe. Then we continued our ride to South Pointe Park, a beautiful spot at the tip of South Beach with stunning views of both the ocean and cruise ships.

Shopping on Lincoln Road

On our return ride, we explored Lincoln Road Mall and Collins Avenue—two must-visit shopping areas with a mix of global brands and local Miami boutiques.

Suite Upgrade & Sunset

Back at the hotel, we were thrilled to be upgraded to a top-floor suite with panoramic views of the pool and beach—exactly what you want from a relaxing Miami holiday.

Evening in Little Havana

That evening, we ventured into Little Havana, the heart of Miami’s Cuban culture. Dinner at Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina featured live music, authentic dishes, and a buzzing atmosphere. Across the street, the legendary Ball & Chain was hosting a lively salsa class, showing off the rhythm that defines the city.

Day 2: Street Art in Wynwood & Beach Bliss

Morning in Wynwood

After breakfast and a quick workout, we headed to Wynwood, Miami’s world-renowned arts district. We started at Wynwood Walls ($12 entry), a vibrant outdoor museum featuring murals from top international artists—an absolute must if you’re spending two days in Miami.

Coffee & Local Culture

After a stop at Panther Coffee, we wandered the neighborhood, taking in the incredible street art and even spotted the famous Lionel Messi mural, a tribute to Inter Miami’s star player.

Afternoon on South Beach

For the afternoon, we returned to South Beach for some downtime. Our hotel offered loungers and towel service on the sand (umbrellas available for an extra fee). The water was warm, slightly choppy, and ideal for cooling off. We also rented a jet ski for $75 (20 minutes) — a fun way to cap off a beach-filled afternoon. Don’t forget to negotiate the price!

Sunset Cocktails & Ocean Drive Entertainment

As sunset approached, we visited the rooftop bar at 1 Hotel South Beach for a cocktail with unbeatable views. For dinner, we booked a table at The Palace, one of Miami’s most iconic drag cabaret spots. The 8pm show was loud, glamorous, and a definite highlight of our trip. Bring cash for tipping the performers!

Final Toast on Ocean Drive

We ended our night with a final drink on Ocean Drive, watching the luxury cars and characters that define the South Beach experience. It was the perfect conclusion to our two days in Miami.
